    After Runway 34, Ajay Devgn is set to reunite with actress Rakul Preet Singh in the upcoming film Thank God . Directed by comedy maverick Indra Kumar , the film also stars Sidharth Malhotra . Recently, the actors revealed that the film will not be a full-blown comedy like the Indra directorial- Dhamaal (2007) and Ishq (1997).

    “It's a nice drama, a social comedy, but basically it got a nice message, a deep thought that will touch hearts,” said Ajay and Rakul in an interview with BollywoodLife. When asked if it is like Indra Kumar’s old hits, they said, “not even Ishq, it's something new, it's very new.”

    Earlier, Sidharth revealed that the film will be a sweet, contemporary film with a lovely message. “For me, it is all about the messaging and what the film is trying to say. I assure people that they will be surprised. 'Thank God' talks about gratitude, which is needed today more than ever” he had told PTI.

    Further, when Ajay was asked about the premise of his upcoming film Drishyam 2 and Kaithi , he said, “ the base of the story will be the same, but there are some script changes.” To note, after the success of Drishyam being remade in Hindi, Ajay is gearing up for the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Dhrishyam 2 as well. Besides it, he also signed up for the Hindi remake of Tamil superhit, Kaithi.

    That’s not it. Ajay will also be seen as Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s upcoming film Maidaan . Giving updates on its release, the actor said, “Maidaan will come in the next three or four months, the film is complete only post-production work is left”. On his upcoming film Bholaa directed by Dharmendra Sharma, he said it will release in March next year.

    On the other hand, Rakul Preet Singh also has an interesting release lined up in the year 2022. She will be next seen in Doctor G alongside Ayushmann Khuranna. Talking about it, she said, “Doctor G is doctor gynaecologist and it is one of the fun scripts that I read. It's very unique. I can’t tell much about the story. Let's just say we are both gynaecologists in the movie.” She also has S Shankar’s Indian 2, and Chhatriwali in her kitty.

    Meanwhile, Runway 34 opened to a slow start at the box office and has so far collected Rs 8.75 crore. Inspired by the true story behind the Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight, 9W 555, the film is directed and produced by Ajay himself. Besides him and Rakul, the film also has Amitabh Bachchan and Boman Irani in prominent roles. The film was released in theatres on April 29.
