According to a new report by director Vignesh Shivan won't be helming ' AK62 ', apparently, the producers of the movie were not happy with the screenplay for the film and decided to go in a different direction.

However, there are also rumors that the reason the project has been shelved at least for now is that the movie will require a massive budget and will not be ready for a Diwali release which both Ajith and the producers counted on.

There was a lot of good buzz surrounding the project, such as the movie will feature both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishna in major roles.

And Arvind Swami has been cast as the main antagonist in the movie, which had many Ajith fans excited for the project.

The shooting for the project was scheduled to begin in the first week of February in Mumbai and is expected to wrap up in 35-40 days.

Composer Anirudh was also roped into handling the music for the project, marking the composer's fifth collaboration with director Vignesh Shivan.

Meanwhile, Ajith's first movie of 2023, the heist-thriller movie Thunivu directed by H. Vinoth has a massive hit at the box office and has 220 crores, making it one of the highest-grossing movies of the new year.

Thunivu was the third collaboration between Ajith and the director after 2019s Nerkonda Paarvai and 2022s Valimai.

The movie follows a group of mercenaries who are robbing a bank in Chennai and are led by Ajith.

The full cast of the movie includes Manju Warrier as Kanmani, Samuthirakani as Dayalan, Ajay as Ramachandran, GM Sundar as Muthazhagan, Veera as Radha, John Kokken as Krish, Bhagavathi Perumal as Rajesh, and Prem Kumar as Prem.
