Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan film in works, set to roll in 2023?

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has given some of the best entertaining comedy films to Bollywood. From Hera Pheri , Bhool Bhulaiyaa to De Dana Dan, Priyadarshan’s collaboration with superstar Akshay Kumar has delivered successful rib-tickling comedies. The director-duo has reportedly once again set to collaborate for a project which will roll in 2023.

According to Pinkvilla, the filmmaker has confirmed that he is doing a movie with the Khiladi actor. He revealed that the upcoming film is in the scripting stage. “My film with him is on the scripting stage. Few things are happening, and the film got delayed because of Covid. Two years of pushing has happened, so it is all under discussion. But I am doing a film with him,” he said to the news portal.

Back in 2021, Priyadarshan made romantic-comedy Hungama 2, the spiritual sequel to his Hungama franchise. The film stars Shilpa Shetty , Paresh Rawal , and Meezan Zaferi in key roles. The film received mixed reviews and performed average at the box office. Now, there are rumours that the filmmaker is planning to roll the second installment of the superhit 2004 film, Hulchul which featured Akshaye Khanna and Kareena Kapoor in the main roles.

However, Priyadarshan has clarified that nothing has yet been decided on the same.“I have not decided anything. I am just shooting some ads. I haven’t decided what to do next in Hindi. Lot of projects are being discussed, but nothing is finalised. Everyday new discussions happen, but nothing is decided” he told the news portal.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan has been quite busy with the shooting of his upcoming Tamil film, Appatha. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, was last seen in Bachchhan Paandey alongside Kriti Sanon and Arshad Warsi which failed to make a mark at the box office. His upcoming projects include Raksha Bandhan , Prithviraj , Ram Setu , OMG 2, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan , and Ranjit Tewari’s untitled next.
