While Akshay's Raksha Bandhan is about brother-sister bond, Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of the Hollywood flick Forrest Gump.
The much-awaited trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan was recently unveiled and we got a sneak peek into the endearing bond of brother and sister. The film is set to release on August 11, the same day Aamir Khan’s film Laal Singh Chaddha is also scheduled to hit theatres. Talking about the clash, Akshay said that it is a coming together of two films.
On Tuesday, the trailer of the film was launched amidst the presence of the entire star cast including Bhumi Pednekar. During the media interaction, Akshay was asked about the inevitable confrontation of his film with that of Aamir’s. He said, “It’s not a clash but two films coming together. It’s a big day. Chuttiyan hai, Rakshabandhan ka waqt hai. Covid ke wajah se filmein release nahi hui. Bahut saari filmein abhi bhi padi hui hai, wait kar rahein hai ki kab theatre pe lagegi. Toh yeh ek natural thing hai ki ek hafte ke andhar do filmein aana. (It’s holiday season, it is Rakshabandhan. See because of Covid many films didn’t release. Many films are still lying around, waiting to be released in theatres. So two films releasing together is a very natural thing).
Further, the Sooryavanshi actor wished luck to both the films adding, “I wouldn’t say we are clashing! We are trying to get our films to people and I hope both films have a good run.” Directed by Aanand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan is a family entertainer that follows the story of a brother who is struggling to get his four sisters married.
On the other hand, Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of the Hollywood flick Forrest Gump which starred Tom Hanks. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film also features Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh in prominent roles. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see which movie Laal Singh Chaddha or Raksha Bandhan will rule the box office.
