Allu Aravind wants Shehzada to be the only Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, trying prevent release of Hindi dub?

Allu Arjun ’s fandom just expanded into the Hindi markets with the humongous success of Pusha: The Rise and now Manish Girish Shah who holds the Hindi rights to the actor’s 2020 Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has announced he would be releasing the Hindi version in cinemas.

What is baffling is that a Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is already in the works as Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon which is being helmed by filmmaker Rohit Dhawan. The fear is that the release of Shah’s Hindi dub of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo might hurt the remake and Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind who is a producer of both films seems keen on putting off the release of the 2020’s film’s Hindi dub.

Manish Shah plans to release the movie in cinemas on January 26 since now no other new Hindi film is releasing on the Republic Day holiday owing to the pandemic. Now to talk Shah out of this Allu Arvind is said to be meeting him in Mumbai today to try and find a mutually beneficial way forward.

Interestingly, apart from the Hindi rights of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Manish Shah also holds the satellite rights to Shehzada.

Reportedly, Allu Aravind wants Shehzada to be the only Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo but looks like that won’t be happening.

Shehzada is still work in progress and a long way from completion. Apart from Kriti and Kartik the movie also stars Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal .

Hindi dubs of Allu Arjun’s Telugu films have always done well on satellites and his first pan-Indian film Pusha turned out to be huge success in the Hindi markets even during the pandemic.

Given the success story of the movie, one can see why it would be a genius idea to release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi dub in cinemas at the moment.
