    ' Badhaai Do ' that welcomed audiences back to theatres on 11th Feb, has set the benchmark at the box office and in the audience's heart. The Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer movie has stirred up a much needed conversations about inclusivity and acceptance of all kind of love not only among the young generation and the community, but also their families. While some are finding it uncomfortable to watch a same-sex relationships on screen, on the other people are clapping for their brilliance portrayal of such a sensitive topic.

    Celebs and media have been showering their love to this bold yet sensitive film since its release, but the audiences have also taken to social media to share their experiences, love, and favourite scenes with the world. The film is said to be the most culturally relevant film, that has either moved people by reminding them of an instance from their past, or connect better with the people they know who have gone through a similar experience, and also given courage to those who wish to come out of the closet.

    Taking to social media was one such viewer who shared his experience about watching the film in the theatres, in Delhi. He was with his partner, watching the film, when he kept hearing comments regarding how “unpleasant” and “uneasy” it is for them to watch the romantic scenes between the same-sex couples on screen. Something that he would have heard probably all his life. However after seeing the coming out scene of Rajkummar Rao’s character, and seeing the acceptance he got on screen, gave this viewer the courage to get up and speak his truth in the theatre that left those people silent while the rest clapped for his bravery to stand for his truth.

    The fact the film is being received so well not only by the LGBTQIA community, but also families and masses, Badhaai Do has taken the step in the right direction, breaking stereotypes and changing mind-sets of another less inclusive society.
