Atrangi Re: Sara Ali Khan reveals what Vidya Balan had to say about her performance as Rinku

Sara Ali Khan proved that she’s a star in the making when she shined on screen in her debut film Kedarnath and just a few weeks later starred in Simmba. She left us in awe with her spectacular acting chops, phenomenal screen presence and raw energy. Sadly her next few films did not do as well, but she redeemed herself with her latest release Atrangi Re . Directed by Aanand L Rai , the romantic drama reminded us of Sara’s applaudable performance in her very first project. She not only blew away the audience with her portrayal of Rinku Sooryavanshi , but also left many celebs from the industry impressed.

In a chat with Bollywood Hungama , Sara revealed that actress Vidya Balan had called her after Atrangi Re released. She was quoted saying, “Incidentally, I had re-watched The Dirty Picture (2011) recently. Then, I had called her.” Soon after, she received a call from Balan. Sara shared, “And then she (Vidya) called me after watching Atrangi Re and she told me that there was not a single false note in my performance. She added that while there was masala and masti when it comes to my character, there was also emotional vulnerability. She also said that she enjoyed the film as a whole.”

Also starring Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar and South superstar Dhanush , Atrangi Re follows the story of a girl from Bihar who is forcefully married to a medical student from Delhi. Their story sees a major twist when her boyfriend Sajjad Ali Khan enters the scene. The film has not only given us incredible performances to relish but also an intriguing, quirky story-line that no one could have predicted.
