John Abraham’s ambitious super-soldier flick Attack was released with much fanfare on April 1. Despite expectations surrounding the movie, it has rather opened up to a lukewarm response at the box office. The film opened to a collection of just Rs 3.51 crore on its first day. Now, the latest development is that Attack has only managed to garner Rs 3.55 crore on its third day.

The movie had managed to mint Rs 3.42 crore at the box office on its second day. However, due to the weekend, expectations were rife that Attack might show positive growth. But alas! the movie failed to show any major growth even after the weekend.

According to a report in Box Office Collection, the John Abraham starrer has garnered Rs 3.55 crore at the box office. This makes the total opening weekend collections to be Rs 10.48 crore. This poor box office performance of Attack might also be due to the extremely stiff competition faced by movies like RRR and The Kashmir Files that are still going solid at the box office.

Earlier film trade analyst Sumit Kadel had tweeted that Attack has been totally rejected by the masses as it has shown no growth on Saturday despite being an action film. The tweet read “#Attack is totally rejected by the audience as it dint show any growth on Saturday despite being an action film. It collected ₹ 3.25 cr on its day-2. Two days total- ₹ 6.25 cr net.”

While the unique concept of Attack was appreciated, it also received some flak for the execution. Apart from John, the movie also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez in key roles. In the film, John plays the role of a super-soldier who was once paralyzed after an attack and given a powerful body aided by artificial intelligence by the scientist.
