Bachchhan Paandey: Arshad Warsi talks about working with Akshay Kumar; calls Munna Bhai’s Circuit ‘stupid’

Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi , who was last seen in Durgamati and Asur, is all set to shine on the big screen once again with the upcoming film Bachchhan Paandey . Also starring Akshay Kumar , Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez, the comedy follows the story of an aspiring filmmaker who sets out to make a movie on Bachchhan Paandey, the notorious gangster of Baghwa. Arshad will be seen as Kriti’s partner in crime, who tags along to help her after being offered the role of the second lead in her movie.

In a recent chat with Indian Express, Arshad opened up about his experience of working with Akshay. He was quoted saying, “I really like him. I knew of him as a person and actor. I had heard so much about him, but it was always from other people. When you meet him in person and interact with him, that’s when you know that he is really that person. He is really a nice chap, a good person with a pure heart, that’s very important. Maybe, that is one of the reasons that guys like him just go on and on doing good work, they don’t fade out.”

Arshad explained that everyone wants to cast Akshay because he is professional and good to work with. The actor further revealed that it is important for him to know who the lead actor of the film is, and gave the example of the super hit Munna Bhai series. Arshad shared, “I did Munna Bhai because it was Sanju ( Sanjay Dutt ), otherwise even Raju (filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani ) knows that it is it is a stupid role. It really is on paper, it was nothing. Even Makrand Deshpande had said no to Circuit!” Well, there are many fans who wouldn’t agree to this. Even in the trailer of Bachchhan Paandey when Kriti tries to convince Arshad, she tells him how Circuit stole the limelight in Munna Bhai!
