In 2016 when Ben Affleck was cast to play Batman in Zack Synder's Batman V Superman. The reactions from fans were mixed but his performance in the movie quickly won over fans and was considered one of the best things about the movie.

However, after his appearance in the Justice League and the poor critical, and financial response the movie received and Affleck's standalone Batman movie which he was supposed to write and direct fell through, he announced that he was leaving the role.

He went to say "I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting — different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn't work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, 'Wow — I think I have finally figured it out.'"

The Flash stars Ezra Miller reprising his role as Barry Allen and dealing with the consequences of time travel, Joining Miller and Affleck will be Micheal Keaton who will be returning to the role of Batman and based on Tim Burton's Batman movies.
