According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film remained the first choice of moviegoers, eclipsing the business of new films such as Ayushmann Khurrana ’s Anek and Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick. On Friday and Saturday, the film minted Rs 6.52 crore and 11.35 crore respectively, taking its total earnings to Rs. 109.92 crore.

In just three days of release, the film recorded more than Rs 50 crore at the box office. The film performed rather consistently taking the overall collection to Rs 92.05 crore in its first week. Now, with the strong word-of-mouth, the film has now crossed Rs 100 crore mark in less than ten days of release.

Directed by Anees Bazmee , Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani , Tabu , Sanjay Mishra, and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar , Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani , and Anjum Khetani, the film was released in cinemas on May 20, 2022.

As per DesiMartini’s review, “The main USP of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which immediately starts encapsulating us from the beginning is the effortless humor and the chain of events that leads up to it. Some sub-plots seem to be far-fetched and exaggerated but not once do the humor and dialogues seem to cringe and forceful. Anees Bazmee has tried to curate the balance between the horror and the comedy in this one intricately.”
