The controversy occurred after a new promo which contained footage from Aquaman, Birds of Prey, Batman v Superman and the 2017s Justice League movie was released, which forced the studio to remove it from social media and the official studio Youtube channel and reuploaded without footage from the 2017 movie.

Fans where displeased with the movie for using the footage and shared their thoughts on social media

Following the backlash star of the movie Dwyane Johnson tweeted the changed version of the promo with the caption "Corrected" followed by a fist bump emoji.

While the new trailer did not use footage from the Snyder Cut instead using footage from Black Adam to replace it, the changed promo was well received by fans with many thanking the actor.

The movie is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.
