‘Boycott Adipurush’ takes over Twitter; fans prefer Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan over Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s film

The much awaited teaser of Adipurush was finally launched in Ayodhya last night. When it was first announced that South superstar Prabhas and ace filmmaker Om Raut are coming together for the first time ever, fans expected the film to be even bigger than Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and maybe a close competitor to SS Rajamouli’s masterpiece Baahubali. Well, many have loved the teaser and are sure that Adipurush will turn out to be a spectacle. However, there is also a segment of social media that is highly disappointed with many resorting to the 'Boycott Adipurush' trend.

Saif Ali Khan is being mercilessly trolled for his portrayal of Lankesh aka Ravana. Many netizens are also tweeting about how Ramanand Sagar ’s Ramayan was a much better watch. One netizen shared, “Saif Ali Khan as Ravan looks very bad. I would watch Ramanand Sagar Ramayan. Not going to watch this movie #BoycottAdipurush”, meanwhile another post read: “If someone is experiencing goosebumps because of this ridiculous bollywood rubbish, they should watch #Ramayan by Ramanand Sagar. Even the Ramayan animated series from the 1990s is more energising and has that cultural element. I abhor this bollywood shite. #BoycottAdipurush.”

A third tweet read: “A great combination of BATMAN, Planet of Apes, GOT, Avengers, and Harry Potter. Ramanand Sagar Ji Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, Koichi Saski, Ye dekh kar to respect badh Gayi sir for you! @omraut #BoycottAdipurush.” While the teaser has left social media divided, there is one thing about Adipurush that fans are swooning over-- the lead pair! Netizens can’t get enough of Prabhas and Kriti’s off-screen chemistry. We can’t wait to see the two shine together on the silver screen when Adipurush arrives in theatres on 12th January next year.

What did you think of the teaser?
