Brahmāstra: Ayan Mukherji introduces Mouni Roy as Junoon; calls her the surprise package in Alia-Ranbir starrer

After becoming a household name and making it big in the television industry, Naagin star Mouni Roy set out to try her luck in Bollywood with films like Romeo Akbar Walter and Made in China. Well, up next she will be seen in a pivotal role in one of the most awaited projects of the Hindi film industry, Ayan Mukherji’s fantasy adventure film Brahmāstra – Part One: Shiva. Starring Alia Bhatt , Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, the film features Mouni as an antagonist.

Well much to our delight, after what seems like a long wait, Ayan officially introduced us to Mouni’s character Junoon today with a dynamic first look motion poster. In the background, we hear powerful music which elevates her gripping avatar. Along with this extremely impressive post, the director wrote, “JUNOON. A lot of people, I think, are going to walk out of Brahmāstra, talking about Mouni’s Performance as Junoon. Moun - who has deep belief and deep surrender for Lord Shiva - has always understood Brahmāstra very naturally - and with that understanding, she really killed it with her part in our movie!”

Ayan went on to reveal that he had initially approached Mouni only for a special cameo. He shared, “My first meeting with her, I offered her a ‘special appearance’ in Brahmāstra. Eventually she shot with us from our first day to our last schedule, and is really, the surprise package in the film! कर ले सबको वश में अपने, अँधेरे की रानी है। ब्रह्मास्त्र को हासिल करना, यह जुनून ने ठानी है | More of Her… More of our Cast… More of Everything… In Our TRAILER TOMORROW.”

While Ranbir will be seen as Shiva in the upcoming film, Alia will be portraying the role of Isha. Big B, on the other hand, is playing the character of Guru whereas South superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni was recently introduced as artist Anish, who has the strength of a 1000 Nandi’s. Well, Mouni’s deadly first look has left us even more excited for Brahmāstra, which arrives on the silver screen on 9th September.
