Captain Miller: Dhanush's period-action movie to get a big update today

    Dhanush's period-action movie Captain Miller will be getting a major update today. Updates regarding the progress of the movie have been slow but now fans can rest easy.

    The movie recently found itself in controversy after it was alleged that the movie's production was endangering wildlife. 

    The accusation came from residents who live near the Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KTMR) in Tamil Nadu where the movie is currently being filmed.

    The producer of the movie has given us an update regarding the status of the movie, stating that 70% of the movie has been filmed and that the movie is eyeing a Diwali release.

    Recently a video of what appeared to be a large fight scene from the movie leaked online, the clip has gone viral since then and has led to a lot of speculation about the plot of the movie.

    The movie is a period drama marking Matheswaran's directorial debut and his first collaboration with Dhanush . The movie is currently being shot in the forest of Tenkashi.

    There is speculation online that the movie is based on the life of Captain Miller, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a separatist Tamil militant organization in Sri Lanka.

    The movie will also star Hollywood actor Edward Sonnenblick, who last played the role of Edward in SS Rajamouli's RRR.

    The movie will also be the first time Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar will work alongside Dhanush, making Captain Miller his second Tamil movie after Rajinikanth's Jailer.

    The rest of the cast includes Sundeep Kishan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken, Priyanka Arulmohan, and Sumesh Moor.

    Noted composer G.V. Prakash Kumar will be handling the music for the movie, with Shreyas Krishna in charge of the cinematography and Nagooran will be serving as editor.

    Meanhwile Dhanush will be donning the director's hat for a second time, The movie will be produced by Dhanush's own production company Wunderbar Films in association with Sun Pictures. So far the movie has added Dushara Vijayan, Vishnu Vishal, and SJ Suryah to its cast.

    Dhanush's forst directorial venture was Pa Paandi which he also co-wrote starred veteran actors Rajkiran and Revathi and followed the story of Pandian Pazhanisami(Rajkiran) a retired stuntman who goes off in search of his long-lost love Poonthendra(Revathi).
