Check out these easy to miss easter eggs from the first teaser for Vijay's 'Leo'

The first promo for the movie has a few cool easter eggs.

    Leo

    Leo

The first teaser for the upcoming third installment in the Lokesh cinematic Universe( LCU ) ' Leo ' was released recently and received positive reactions from fans.

The teaser did not give away any plot details of the movie similar to the first teaser of Kamal Haasan's Vikram.

However the teaser for Leo does contain a few easter eggs, so let's take a look at a few of them that may reveal what we can expect from the movie.

    The two versions of Leo

In the teaser, we see two versions of Leo, the first version of Leo is set during the day and we see him working in his bakery, his hair is black and he is wearing formal clothing.

In the second version, which is at night Leo can be seen forging a sword to confront his enemies. His look is more rugged and we can see there are greys in his hair.

This could be an indication that in the movie there will a focus on both the character's past and his present life. There is a rumor floating around that the movie has a similar plot to the 2005 Hollywood action movie 'A History of Violence'.

In which a family man is forced to confront this violent past after he encounters someone from his old life as a gangster.

    Kaithi reference

The fact that Leo works at or owns a bakery could be a possible callback to the 2019 movie Kaithi, the first installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

In the movie, there is a scene, where Dilli played by Karthi informs Kamatchi, that while he was in prison he worked in the bakery for three years.

This could mean that at one point in the past, both Leo and Dilli have met in prison, and because Dilli has a connection to Rolex and his cartel, the three men may have known each other at some point.

So a possibility of Dilli having a cameo in the movie are strong and could help explain how they know each other.

    Swords vs Guns

Both the teasers of Vikram and Leo share a lot of similarities. However, one major difference is the fact that the Leo teaser does not show any guns, and as a matter of fact, we see Leo forging a sword to take on his enemies.

Whereas, in the Vikram teaser, we see Kamal Haasan's Vikram hiding a lot of guns throughout his cabin before his guests arrive.

This could be a way to differentiate the personalities of Vikram and Leo and also how Leo likes to use swords and knives instead of guns in a fight.

These were the of the major easter eggs from the first teaser for Vijays' Leo.The movie is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner Seven Screen Studio.

The cinematography will be handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. The movie will be edited by Philomin Raj who worked on the previous entries of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

The cast of the movie includes Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Manobala, and Janany Kunaseelan.

    Leo

The OTT rights for the movie have been secured by Netflix, for a whopping 150 crores. While we do know the main cast of the movie, there is a strong possibility that the movie will have cameos from actors like Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, and Fahadh Faasil.

Leo will hit theaters worldwide on 20 October 2023.
