    Chhath is a major festival in states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. It follows the festival of Diwali which is just days away. With preparations already having begun in the Hindi-heartland, how can Bhojpuri stars be left untouched. Several Bhojpuri singers are gearing up to release their songs around the occasion.

    After a series of blockbusters in the past few days, Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav has released another super hit song ‘Nariyal’ on YouTube. The popularity of the song can be gauged from the fact that it has garnered over 2 million views in just a day of its release. The song features Khesari Lal Yadav and Shilpi Raj who are also the lead singers. The lyrics have been penned by Pawan Sharma and the music has been composed by Aarya Sharma. Aashish Satyarthi is the song director, while Sunny and Dablu are the choreographers.

    The song is about a husband preparing to visit the market for Chhath shopping. While getting ready, he asks his wife about the things she requires for Chhath puja from the markets. To which the wife orders him to get her sukha nariyal (dry coconut).

    The song shows both Khesari and Shilpi donning traditional Bhojpuri dresses and singing the significance of the festival. Khesari also has many other hit Chhath songs to his credit including 2020 released Chhath Ghate Chali which has over 100 million views.

    Meanwhile, Chhath puja is dedicated to the sun god Surya. Along with the Sun God, Chhathi Maiya is also worshipped on this day. Worshippers show gratitude and thankfulness for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request that certain wishes be granted. People in the Hindi heartland start preparing for the festival months in advance.
