Sung by Jyoti Sharma, the Chhath song has been featured on Bhojpuri actress Mahi Srivastava .

    Mahi played a woman who is devoid of the pleasure of motherhood. The childless lady, on learning the divinity of the Chhath Goddess, decides to observe fast on the occasion. She begs Chhath Mata to bless her with a child. Viewers are admiring the heart-touching emotional moments in the song which has been picturized around a Chhath Ghat. The song has been penned by Kunj Bihari and Sajan Mishra composed it. The video song has been produced by Ratnakar Kumar and Ravi Pandit directed the same.

    Recently, an old Chhath song “Jai Chhathi Maiya” in the voices of Pawan Singh and Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam yet again went viral. The song has so far received more than 3 crore views on YouTube. The song shows a husband preparing to visit the market for Chhath shopping. Just before leaving, he asks his wife what she needs from the market for Chhath puja. The wife asks him to get her sukha nariyal (dry coconut) for the pooja.

    Another Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav’s ‘Nariyal’ song is also breaking new records on YouTube. It amassed over 2 million views in just a day of its release.

    Meanwhile, Chhath puja is dedicated to the sun god Surya. Devotees worship Sun God and Chhathi Maiya on this day. Worshippers show gratitude and thankfulness for bestowing the bounties of life on the earth. Chhath puja will begin on 28 October 2022.
