Chiyaan Vikram hospitalized in Chennai after complaining of chest pain

The actor was supposed to take part in the teaser launch for national award-winning director Mani Ratnam 's epic period dram Ponniyin Selvan part 1.

The actor is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Vikram plays one of the main leads in the movie as well as its sequel, as of now the teaser launch has not been called off.

The actor was last seen in the crime drama Mahaan in which he acted alongside his son Dhruv Vikram, which earned critical acclaim.

Hopefully the actor will make a quick recovery. 

The first teaser for the Ponniyan Selvan is set to launch today at 6 in all major Indian languages.

The movie is based on the Tamil novel of the same name and focuses on the rise of the Chola dynasty and is set during the 10th century

The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Roshith, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, and Sobhita Dhulipala.

Pooniyan Selvan -1 is set to hit the big screen on 30 September 2022.
