Jr NTR in and as Devara
Jr NTR’s latest film Devara has undoubtedly been one of the most talked-about films this year, which is currently on a rampage at the box office. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan in key roles. It narrates the story of a savior of the coastal region. Despite opening to a great start, the film witnessed a decline in numbers on its first Monday. Here’s how much the film earned on day 4 of its release:
Devara box office collection day 4
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Devara kicked off with a massive opening, raking in more than Rs 85 crore at the box office. However, despite entering the 300-crore club in 3 days, the film saw its first major drop following an outstanding weekend turnout, with a massive 68% decline in Monday's box office earnings. The film earned only Rs 12.5 crore on Monday across all languages, after raking in nearly Rs 40 crore on Sunday.
The Telugu collections dropped significantly to Rs 8 crore, down from Rs 27.7 crore on Sunday. The dubbed Hindi version also saw a decline, bringing in Rs 4 crore after a strong Sunday of Rs 10 crore. However, despite the drop in numbers, the movie is expected to pick up on October 2, with the Gandhi Jayanti holiday benefiting the film and providing a boost in numbers. Currently, the film stands at Rs 325 crore globally.
Devara 2
While Devara Part 1 is finally out in theaters, there isn’t much buzz surrounding the sequel. Despite having a supposedly interesting cliffhanger, the climax seems to have not generated much excitement among fans regarding the sequel. As per reports, the team has already shot a few sequences for the sequel and it is expected to be wrapped up in less than 8 months.
However, will Devara’s sequel have an impact on audiences, and will it be able to generate any hype considering the mixed reception of the first installment? Well, we may have to wait a little longer to see how that unfolds!
