Dhanush may be teaming up with 'Karnan' director Mari Selvaraj for an upcoming project

    The project will be the second time the duo will be joining hands.

    According to a new report, Dhanush will be working with director Mari Selvaraj for a second time, The duo's last project together was 2021s Karnan.

    Karnan is an action-drama that focuses on the struggle of a poor community against the many injustices they face, the movie was a critical and commercial success.

    Currently, director Mari Selvaraj is promoting his upcoming web series Vaazhai as well as his movie Maamannan a political thriller starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Fahadh Faasil in the lead.

    He also has a movie lineup with Dhruv Vikram, with the actor playing the role of a Kabaddi player, so it will be a while before his project with Dhanush starts production.

    As for Dhansuh the actor is currently busy filming the upcoming period-action movie, Captain Miller. The movie iwill mark Matheswaran's directorial debut and his first collaboration with Dhanush. 

    Captain Miller will also be the first time Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar will work alongside Dhanush, making Captain Miller his second Tamil movie after Rajinikanth's Jailer.

    Dhanush will also be donning the director's cap for the second time this year after the 2017 movie Pa Paandi. The movie will be produced by Dhanush's own production company Wunderbar Films in association with Sun Picture.

    Dhanush is also basking in the success of his first movie of 2023 the period drama Vaathi which grossed over 118 crores at the box office and is currently streaming on Netflix.

    The film was directed by Venky Atluri and is bilingual having been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

    The Telugu version of the movie title Sir received positive reactions from audiences and critics alike and grossed over 50 crores during its theatrical run.

    The movie's cast includes Dhanush, Samyuktha, P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, and Hyper Aadi.

    Dhanush played the idealistic college professor Balamurugan, who wants to reform the education system. The movie was released last month and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics.

    Vaathi will be streaming on Netflix on March 17, 2023.
