    Breaching open the door to the multiverse has it benefits and Benedict Cumberbatch starrer Doctor Strange in the Madness of the Multiverse seems to be reaping the benefits in cinemas. The new MCU film got a warm welcome on Friday, Day 1 at the box office opening to staggering collections of Rs. 28 crores.

    The film has now crossed the Rs. 50 crore milestone on Day 2 with cinemas halls going house full thanks to MCU flocking the cinemas in large numbers. The superhero adventure film promises many new surprises to fans as they come down from the high of Spider Man: No Way Home. In the movie we see Doctor Strange taking a trip across the multiverse with America Chavez, the newest superhero entrant in the MCU.

    It reveals some interesting twists including the introduction of the Illuminati and Wanda finally embracing her powers as the Scarlet Witch and turning villain.

    Doctor Strange in the Madness of The Multiverse has already crossed $229.3M in global collections while at the end of Day 2 the nett collections of the film stand at over Rs, 50 crores according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala .

    On Day 1, the movie became the fourth highest opening Hollywood film in India behind Avengers Endgame [Rs. 53.10 cr], Spiderman: No Way Home [Rs. 32.67 cr] and Avengers Infinity War [ Rs. 31.30 cr].

    With the Sunday still remaining, Doctor Strange 2 is likely to wrap up its opening weekend with box office collections close to Rs. 80 crores.

    Doctor Strange in the Madness of The Multiverse stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen , Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez in key roles and has been directed by Sam Raimi. The movie follows the events of Spiderman No Way Home, Loki and WandaVision.
