Despite receiving mixed responses from critics Dwayne Johnson 's starter, Black Adam is a hit with the audience having a 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed over 140 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

The fact that DC has managed to secure a Chinese release date for the movie, something no movie in Marvel phase four has been able to do is big news.

The movie is expected to hit the Chinese theater on November 11th. Factoring in Dwayne Johnson's huge popularity in China and the previous success of his movies at the Chinese box office, Black Adam is expected to do at least between $95 million and $130 million, which should easily put the movie over $500 million at the global box office.

In the US and Canada, Black Adam was projected to earn $58–68 million from its opening weekend.

The film made $26.7 million on its first day beating the opening day of Shazam! which earned 20.4 million. It went on to gross $67 million during the opening weekend, the highest of Johnson's leading career.

Outside the US the movie grossed a total of 73 million with the biggest markets being Malaysia($2.2 million), Indonesia ($1.4 million), the Philippines ($1 million), Taiwan ($2 million), Brazil ($4.9 million) and India ($3.5 million).

The movie is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and a cast of the movie includes Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.

Black Adam is currently running in theaters.
