With the recent revelation that the new heads of DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Safran planning to reboot the DCEU and that most of the actors associated with the franchise won't be returning.

Dwayne Johnson 's Black Adam which was the last entry into the DCEU this year was also believed to be the actor's first and last appearance in the DCEU.

This also sparked rumors that there was a lot of behind-the-scenes drama between the studio and the actor.

But today the actor released a statement clarifying that there are no issues between him and the new studio heads and while Black Adam won't be a part of the immediate future of the new DCU , he is still Black Adam and will return sometime in the future.

“James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling, However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”

This could be a hint that The Rock's Black Adam may appear as a standalone movie set outside of the new DCU canon, similar to the upcoming Joker 2 and The Batman.

Meanwhile, Black Adam's main rival Shazam is all set to hit the big screen in March of 2023 and Zachery Levi's recent tweet is an indication we will be seeing more of Billy Batson and the Shazam family in the new DC cinematic universe.

Currently, there are three other movies in DC's old line which are Aquaman 2, The Flash, and Blue Beetle.

According to a new rumor, Aquaman 2 will be Jason Mamoa's last appearance as the king of Atlantis and he has been recast as the intergalactic antihero Lobo in the new DCU.

The Flash on the other hand will introduce the multiverse into the DCU and will serve as a reboot for an entire franchise.

And finally, Blue Beetle which stars Xolo Maridueña in the lead and is currently in post-production will hit theaters in August and might be the first movie set in the new DCU.

Shazam!: Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on 17 March 2023.
