Enna Vilai: Nimisha Sajayan and Karunas wrap up shooting

Nimisha Sajayan's upcoming Tamil film Enna Vilai with Karunas has wrapped up shooting. The film, touted to be a socio-political thriller, is helmed by debutant Sanjeev Pazhoor, who is noted for scripting the 2017 Malayalam film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, which fetched him a National Award.

Along with Nimisha Sajayan and Karunas, the film also features Poornima Bhagyaraj, Praveena, Kamalesh, Y Gee Mahendran, Goli Soda Pandi, Motta Rajendran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vijayalakshmi, and Shasha.

The makers have said that Enna Vilai will be a family drama filled with socio-political thriller elements. The story is set against the backdrop of Rameshwaram. The shooting was completed in three schedules across 56 locations, including Rameshwaram, Chennai, Pondicherry and Kochi.

Nimisha has previously starred in noted Tamil films such as Chithha along with Siddharth, Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X that starred Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah, and Mission: Chapter 1 with Arun Vijay. Enna Vilai will mark her fourth film in Tamil. The Malayalam actress, who has been able to make a mark for herself in a short time, also has Tamil film DNA with Atharvaa Murali in her upcoming projects.

Enna Vilai release date to be announced soon

The film, produced by Githesh V of Kalamaya Films, has music by Sam CS. Enna Vilai will have a pan-Indian release though the release date is yet to be announced.

Praising the lead cast, producer Githesh V said in a statement that both Karunas and Nimisha have showcased great performances in the movie and that they could win accolades. The film is currently in its post-production stage. The producer also confirmed that the release date of the movie will be announced shortly

Director Sajeev Pazhoor has also written the film.

Notably, Nimisha made her acting debut with Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, that was also penned by Sajeev Pazhoor. Helmed by Dileesh Pothan, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum also starred Suraj Venjaramoodu and Fahadh Faasil who won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.
