Gautham Vaudev Menon to direct Mammootty’s next? Inside details here..

Kollywood’s celebrated director Gautham Vasudev Menon has delivered some of the best romantic films. However, the director’s last film Joshua: Imai Pol Kaaka, failed to do well at the box office. The director’s much-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram with Vikram is yet to see the light of the day. But the filmmaker is back in the news this time because of rumours that the director is all set to direct his first Malayalam film and that too with megastar Mammootty in the lead.

According to some Malayalam sources, GVM is reportedly in talks with the Malayalam megastar and is yet to make an official announcement. 

Gautham Vasudev Menon's Malayalam movie with Mammootty

Although the makers are yet to make an official announcement, sources have revealed that lady superstar Nayanthara will be reuniting with Mammootty for GVM's Malayalam debut, after the 2016 Malayalam superhit film Puthiya Niyamam. Sources also reveal that the film will have be a romantic drama, with screenplay penned by Martin Prakkat, Naveen Bhaskar and Sooraj-Neeraj, who are the writers of Dulquer Salmaan starrer ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi.

GVM and Mammootty’ upcoming Malayalam film Bazooka

Considering that Gautham Vasudev and Mammootty are currently working on the action flick Bazooka, there are good chances that the director expressed his desire to work with the Mollywood megastar for his Malayalam directorial debut.

In the past, the director has expressed many times his desire to work with Mammootty but said that he hasn't finalised anything yet. “I am looking to see if I can direct a film next year in Malayalam; I am in discussion with a couple of actors. I really want to work with Mammootty sir and Fahadh Faasil,” the director had revealed.

Meanwhile, Bazooka, starring Gautham Vasudev and Mammootty, is directed by newcomer Deeno Dennis. Earlier, the first look poster of Gautham Vasudev Menon was dropped which features the multi-faceted talent in an intense avatar. The poster also revealed that the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya director is set to play the role of Benjamin Joshua in the movie, who is going to be the antagonist of the film.
