In a recent interview director James Gunn revealed that the Guardians wont be same after volume 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 director James Gunn describes the third installment as 'dark'

James Gunn who is busy with the production of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which is currently being shot in London talked about the movie and its dark tone, he also said that this will be the last time that we see this team together in the MCU.

Gunn had in previous interviews hinted at the darker tone of the movie but his recent statement could mean that one or more members of the Guardians could get killed.

While we can only speculate who will be leaving there is a chance it could be anyone from the major cast.

While speaking to Deadline on the sets of GOTG VOL 3 the director said, “This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians.”

He went on to add, “It’s big; it’s so, so big and dark and different from what people might be expecting it to be,” the filmmaker continued. “I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story. That’s always a little bit scary; I’m doing my best.”

Gunn further said that unlike most third movies in trilogies which 'suck' Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 would be different.

Actor Dave Bautista who was open with his anger at Marvel for hiring James Gunn and said in past interviews that doubted he would keep playing Drax after volume 3, now this is not a confirmation of the actor's departure as it could be anyone of the crew.

Now, this does not mean that we won't get a Volume 4 or 5 but rather a new squad as Volume 3 will introduce a few new players into The MCU such as Adam Warlock played by Will Poulter so it will be interesting to see what the new squad will be down the line.

While plot details are minimum, we do know that a big focus of the movie will be on Gamora played by Zoe Saldaña, and her relationship with her sister Nebula played by Karen Gillan.

The rest of the cast includes Chris Pratt , Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel, Bradly Cooper, Sylvester Stallone and Chukwudi Iwuji

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
