Is sequel to Ajay Devgn's Deewangee in the works? Anees Bazmee spilled the beans

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director Anees Bazmee is all set to make a sequel to his Ajay Devgn starrer 2002 film Deewangee. The filmmaker revealed that the actor also wants that part 2 of the film should be made.

The filmmaker is currently basking in the success of his recently released horror-comedy which grossed more than Rs 175 crore. In a recent interview, while talking about his upcoming projects, he revealed that he and Ajay are planning to spin a story around the old film after 20 years. “Ajay, and even I want that a part 2 of the film should be made. Just imagine- if a person could be that shrewd back then, now after 20 years what level he would be at. If I can think at that level, if I can spin a story around it, then most definitely we will make Deewangee 2,” he told News18.com.

The ace filmmaker also shared his thoughts on the delayed release of 2006 film ‘Naam’ starring Ajay which will finally release this year. “We had started shooting for Naam in 2006. We are in 2022 now and I can only hope that people would like it. I’ll be happy if the producers do not suffer losses. All my wishes are with the producers and I only hope people will like the film,” he added.

Bazmee went on to say that he prefers to take projects one by one. “I am also working on the script of 1-2 films, but I generally do not plan ahead too much. I make a feel and pray that it gets a proper release. Then I consider what to make next. I feel people are running around too much, and I am just walking. I have been walking like this for the last 40 years, and I want to continue doing so.”

Meanwhile, Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 stars Kartik Aaryan , Kiara Advani , Tabu , and Rajpal Yadav in prominent roles. It is a spiritual sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 film of the same name. The film was released worldwide on May 20, and still going strong at the box office.
