    With huge advance bookings and fans’ uproar, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is set to overtake Pathaan’s record. Even the positive reviews from both the audience and critics have given the go-ahead and there is no stopping for the movie to become a mega blockbuster. Till 4 pm today, the film has registered an overall 50.19 per cent occupancy on the first day of release as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

    According to early estimates, Shah Rukh’s film may earn Rs 75 crore in India net, surpassing Pathaan’s Rs 60 crore opening day collection. As per Sacnilk, the film is expected to score Rs 65 crore in the Hindi belt and 5 crore each in Tamil and Telugu languages. So far, the afternoon shows have shown major footfalls, registering 54.27 per cent occupancy. Major occupancy was seen in Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, while Mumbai showed comparatively fewer footfalls on the Day 1 of release as per reports.

    Fans have been flocking to the early morning shows and dancing in the theatres. They even poured milk on Shah Rukh’s posters while celebrating Jawan. The superstar took to Twitter to express his gratitude for so much love and appreciation for the movie. “Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside.     Directed by Atlee, one of the successful Tamil directors, Jawan features Shah Rukh in never-seen-before avatars. The film also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani among others in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt made cameo appearances in the movie. The film hit the theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages worldwide.
