Jawan Box Office Day 18: After Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan races towards the Rs 1000-crore club with Atlee’s film
With Jawan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan is on his way to become the only Indian who has two films in the Rs 1000 crore club
When it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan is taking a hiatus after Zero, fans were heartbroken. But we knew he would return to the silver screen with a bang. Four years later, that’s exactly what he did with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. Co-starring Deepika Padukone as a fellow spy with John Abraham as the antagonist, the action thriller went on to become one of the most successful releases of Bollywood. Pathan made a lifetime collection of Rs 1,050.30 crore, becoming the second Hindi film after Dangal to enter the 1000 crore club. Well, SRK is now on his way to make history again with Jawan.
Directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan has been unstoppable ever since it released in theatres. Fans couldn’t stop gushing over Shah Rukh’s 7 avatars in the film while the story line kept them hooked to the screen. It even broke Pathaan’s record and emerged as Bollywood’s new biggest opener by earning Rs 75 crore. According to a report by Sacnilk, on day 18 which was a Sunday, Jawan raked in a whopping Rs 15 crore in India, bringing its total collection to Rs 560.83 crore. Meanwhile the film’s worldwide box office collection managed to reach Rs 979 crore.
Trade analysts are now convinced that Shah Rukh is on his way to make a new record. As soon as Jawan reaches the Rs 1000 crore mark, which it will sometime this week, Shah Rukh Khan will become the only Indian actor to have two films in the coveted 1000 crore club. Well, we knew he was coming back with a bang. But we didn’t expect him to rock the box office so hard that it would make every Indian proud. The success of Pathaan and Jawan have only increased our expectations from Dunki, which is SRK’s third release of 2023. Here’s wishing him all the best!
