John Abraham pens a thank you note to the audience after Attack's box office failure: 'I completely own and am proud of this film'

Bollywood star John Abraham has issued a statement nearly a week after the release of his film attack. The film failed to produce any remarkable results at the box office despite the makers patiently having chalked out a release plan for the film through the pandemic. With box office collections standing at Rs. 13 crores (approx.), John has thanked the audience for who stepped out to watch the film.

The movie which has also been produced by John while it was helmed by director Lakshya Raj Anand. Attack Part 1 has the actor transforming into a super solider to save the day after series of terrorist attacks.

“Whatever appreciation we have received for this film, a big THANK YOU to the audience for accepting something that's new and different. ATTACK was an honest, humble experiment on our part to give the industry something refreshing and new,” John began by writing.

“It was challenging through the 3 pandemic waves but we got what we wanted, I completely own and am proud of this film. I stand by the honest effort every team member has taken on ATTACK,” he added.

Attack, like Bachchan Paandey before it, failed to garner the attention of the audience in front films like RRR and The Kashmir Files which flourished at the box office. Meanwhile, RRR has crossed the Rs. 1000 crore mark at the box office which released a week ahead of John’s film.

While a Part 2 for Attack was anticipated, there is no update from John or the makers if it is still on cards.

Attack also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles.
