Despite not-so-bad reviews, the horror comedy Phone Bhoot starring Katrina Kaif , Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi failed to pull the audience to the theatres. Directed by Mirzapur fame director Gurmmeet Singh, the film witnessed a slight growth on Day 2 of release, registering a two-day total collection of Rs 4.80 crores.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Phone Bhoot’s collection needs that extra push for a decent opening weekend total. On the first day of release i.e November 4, the film collected Rs 2.05 crore. Moving forward to its second day, the film booked a great jump of 35% in its collections amounting to 2.75 Cr. on Saturday. It is likely that the collection will further be affected as the public seemed to be hooked to the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Also, the Kannada movie Kantara has already taken over major ticket windows.

However, Phone Bhoot is performing better than the other two movies–Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili and Sonakshi Sinha’s Double XL, which was released on the same day. Written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath, Phone Bhoot features Katrina as a beautiful ghost with a business idea for two ghostbusters Ishaan and Siddhant. The trio takes down the antagonist played by Jackie Shroff. The film is backed by Excel Entertainment, headed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

As per DesiMartini's review, “Phone Bhoot could've been a creative attempt to deliver a quirky horror-comedy flick if not for the writing faltering heavily in the second half. Director Gurmmeet Singh has curated a quirky atmosphere that will definitely be a safe haven for all horror lovers. The main USP of Phone Bhoot is its concise pace and smooth gags, especially in the first half of the film. However, watch this one for the magnetic screen presence of Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khattar , and Siddhant Chaturvedi. We give the film 3 out of 5 stars.”
