Laal Singh Chaddha replaces Adipurush on August calendar, makers announce: 'We are unable to complete the film in time'

Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha has once again been delayed. The makers seem to have now quit their plans to arrive on Baishakhi 2022 in April as planned and now will arrive ahead of Independence Day.

The makers of this Forrest Gump remake announced their plans of August release in a statement and revealed that Laal Singh Chaddha will now arrive on 11 August instead on Prabhas starrer Adipurush. The new date was arrived at after a negotiation with the makers of Adipurush. While Advait Chandan directed Laal Singh Chaddha has announced its release date, Om Raut is yet to reveal what new release date will his highly anticipated adaptation of Ramayan will arrive on.

The statement shared by Aamir Khan Productions read: "This is to announce that our film, Laal Singh Chaddha, will not be releasing on 14th April as planned. This is because we are unable to complete the film in time. The film will now be releasing on 11 Aug 2022 in theatres worldwide. We would like to thank Mr Bhushan Kumar , T Series and Om Raut and the entire team of Adipurush from the bottom of our hearts."

Thanking makers of Adipurush, the statement further read, "We would like to thank them for being so helpful and understanding, and for shifting the release date of their much awaited, Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan , so that Laal Singh Chaddha can come on 11 Aug 2022.”

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the Tom Hank starrer Hollywood classic Forrest Gump which released in the 90s. The movie will touch upon the many historic events of Indian history while taking us through the journey of Laal Singh Chaddha played by Aamir Khan.

Beside Aamir the film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya (who is making his Bollywood debut with the film), Mona Singh, Pankaj Tripathi and also feature a comeo by Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan .
