Liger star Vijay Deverakonda reveals how he handled Mike Tyson’s punch; Ananya Panday calls him ‘gentle giant’

Back in November last year, Vijay Deverakonda along with his co-star Ananya Panday , director Puri Jagannadh and co-producer Charmme Kaur jetted off to Las Vegas. There they shot an exciting part of their film Liger with former professional boxer Mike Tyson , who makes his acting debut in the Indian cinema with this project. Along with a snap with the legend, Vijay had shared, “This man is love Every moment I am making memories! And this one will forever be special.. #Liger Vs The Legend.. When I came face to face with Iron @miketyson.”

Fans also got a glimpse of Tyson in the trailer, which was an absolute delight! Well, in a recent interview with Bollywood Life, Vijay revealed that during rehearsal Mike landed a punch on his face by mistake. The Arjun Reddy star was supposed to miss the punch, but due to their positions it got mistimed. His body was asking him to fall to the floor after getting knocked out, but somehow he managed to keep standing. This boosted Vijay’s confidence.

Ananya, who also has scenes with Mike, revealed that she fell when he put his hand on her shoulder. She admitted she was initially scared but added, “He was very sweet, he was like one gentle giant. I would like to believe we are friends (laughs).” Well, even Vijay was a little scared when he heard that the team was unable to find shoes for Tyson because his foot size is 14. On top of this, when they greeted each other Vijay saw how big the boxer’s hand is, which did worry him a little. In the end not only did they shoot a phenomenal scene, but also had a gala time.

Well, Mike Tyson’s extended cameo is definitely one of the highlights of Liger, which will arrive in theatres on 25th August.
