The Flash movie directed by Andy Muschietti is one of the most anticipated movies by DC fans, the movie is set to reboot the DCEU and introduce the multiverse into the franchise.

One of the biggest highlights of the movie is the return of Michael Keaton as Batman, the actor who played the role in Tmin Burton's Batman movies in the 90s.

His portrayal of the Dark Knight is still talked about today and is credited with giving the superhero genre a more mature and darker tone.

In a recent interview, the actor revealed why he chose to return to the iconic role.

While the plot details for The Flash is still under wraps it can be assumed that it will be connected to the Flashpoint comic series.

In which Barry Allen aka The Flash travels back in time to save his mother's life but ends up changing the future for the worse.

The movie will also have Ben Affleck play his version of Batman from Justice League, no doubt that WB is diving into the DC Multiverse with The Flash.

In the interview with Variety Keaton explains why he chose to take up the role again

“I was curious what it would be like after this many years. Not so much me doing it — obviously, some of that — but I was just curious about it, weirdly, socially. This whole thing is gigantic. They have their entirely own world. So, I like to look at it as an outsider, thinking ‘Holy moly!’

“The writing was actually really good! So I thought, why not? It’s cool to drop in and I’m curious to see if I can pull it off.”

The actor's comments are giving The Flash movie some much-needed positive hype since the movie has been mired in controversy ever since the assault and grooming allegations against Ezra Miller.

WB had announced that Ezra Miller has been fired and that The Flash would be his last appearance in the DCEU.

Micheal Keaton seems to have enjoyed working on The Flash as he is set to appear in future DCEU projects including HBO Max's Batgirl , which stars Leslie Grace in the lead.

Hopefully, we also get to see the actor in action like in the old days.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
