Mrunal Thakur feels wait for Jersey is going to be worth it after film's last minute delay

The gorgeous Mrunal Thakur had a splendid 2021 with two exciting releases, Toofaan and Dhamaka, which featured the actress in vastly different characters. She was all set to shine on-screen for the third time with Jersey , this time in theatres, on the last day of the year. But sadly, like most other much awaited films, the Shahid Kapoor starrer was pushed indefinitely due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. A few days later, Mrunal announced that she had tested positive for novel coronavirus and had quarantined herself.

In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, the actress opened up about the eventful week. She shared, “I had mild symptoms but it’s physically draining. But what’s more draining is isolation. Our lives are so hectic, and suddenly getting 14 days of rest was something I was unable to digest. I can’t wait to bounce back to work.” Talking about her film’s delay, Mrunal stated, “ Waiting always gets tough. Love Sonia (2018) took two years to release. So, let this film take another six to seven months, and whenever it releases, it’s going to be worth it.”

Well, after watching the promising trailer of Jersey, it is safe to agree with Mrunal that the film will be worth the wait. The official Hindi remake of Nani’s 2019 Telugu sports drama, Jersey features Shahid as a 36-year-old cricketer named Arjun, who returns to the pitch after 10 long years to fulfill his son's wish of getting a jersey of the Indian national team. Mrunal will be seen as Shahid’s on-screen wife who is disappointed in him for being jobless, while Pankaj Kapur will be playing the role of his coach.
