Nagarjuna on working in Rajinikanth's Coolie and Dhanush's Kubera
Telugu superstar Nagarjuna is currently working on two highly anticipated films—the Dhanush-led Kubera and Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Tamil film Coolie. The actor, who recently attended the IFFI Goa opening ceremony, was asked about his upcoming projects. He enthusiastically spoke about his ventures in Tamil and Telugu cinema.
Speaking of Coolie, the actor revealed that the experience of working under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction was "liberating." He said, "Lokesh Kanagaraj is not a Gen Z director, but I believe that he is a Gen Z kind of filmmaker. He is a new-age filmmaker in terms of screenplay and all of that. I am enjoying working with him. It is very liberating playing his character. There are no rules. He does not say that a hero has to behave like this or a villain has to behave like this."
Moving forward, the actor also shared his insights on working alongside Dhanush and director Sekhar Kammula in his upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Kubera. Calling it a highly realistic movie, the actor expressed that he enjoyed working on the project with Sekhar Kammula, whom he regards as having a "completely new style" of directing. He said, "You know, Sekhar Kammula is a very realistic filmmaker. It's a completely different style of filmmaking, so I am enjoying that film too. I am experimenting now, and I am very happy here!"
For the unversed, Nagarjuna will be playing the role of a dreaded gangster named Simon in Coolie, while he portrays a cop with grey shades in Sekhar Kammula and Dhanush's Kubera.
