    Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha is the most anticipated film of the year. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is an Indian adaptation of the Hollywood flick Forrest Gump. Ever since the trailer was released, the netizens have been waiting to watch the superstar Aamir on the silver screen after four years. Interestingly, Aamir recently revealed that not he, but his son Junaid Khan was all set to be launched as Laal, the titular role, in the movie.

    In a recent media interaction, Aamir said that he was not sure whether Secret Superstar fame Advait would be able to direct a film of this kind. So, he asked the director to first have a mock shoot with Junaid as the main lead. After the shoot, Aamir was left impressed with his acting skills, and decided to launch him in Laal Singh Chaddha. He even showed the mock test to many people including Karan Johar, Mansoor Khan, and Svati Chakravarty among others and they agreed. However, writer Atul Kulkarni and filmmaker Aditya Chopra had different opinions. According to them, for Junaid’s launch, the film is an episodic fare, not a plot-heavy film. Hence, Aamir decided to take on the role.

    In the original film, Tom Hanks played the lead part. The 3 Idiots actor also mentioned that it was Junaid who inspired him not Tom. After observing Junaid’s sur of Laal's character, he understood how to play the part. For the unversed, Junaid will be launched in Aditya Chopra’s film titled Maharaja. The film is scheduled to release in 2023.

    Meanwhile, the upcoming film is about a simple man named Laal and his extraordinary journey. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit theatres on August 11, clashing with Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Raksha Bandhan.
