Not Ranbir Kapoor’s Shiva but THIS character is the ‘most exciting’ for Brahmāstra director Ayan Mukerji

When the trailer of Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva released, one name that began trending on social media was that of Shah Rukh Khan’s. We already knew that he will be seen in a special cameo. But what fans were confused about was if he was Vanarastra or the mystery man with a trident in his hand. Well, after watching the Ayan Mukerji directorial, we have now understood that the mystery man is actually Dev . No spoilers from the Ranbir Kapoor movie, but it is now obvious that part 2 in the planned trilogy will focus on Dev’s character and hopefully on his story with Amrita.

In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, the director revealed that while shooting Brahmāstra: Part One, he got a chance to start pursuing the ‘Dev vision’. That’s not all! Ayan feels Dev is the most exciting character! The filmmaker explained, “The real Brahmāstra story and conflict comes alive in Part Two. In terms of Dev, I will go out on a limb and say he is possibly the most exciting character that I will be taking on in my career so far. I am extremely thrilled about the potential of Dev and I hope things align for us in the next three years in a way where we can be able to give you guys in our minds for this.”

At the end of Ranbir and Alia Bhatt’s film, we get a glimpse of a silhouetted figure that is Dev. Well, for a long time, Ayan had a plan to reveal the face of the character during the climax of Brahmāstra. You read that right! So what changed his mind? Ayan shared, “It was with a lot of thought and a desire to create some curiosity in the minds of the audiences that we ended the film where we did.”

Well, even though it’s not clear which actor will be playing the role of Dev in Brahmāstra part two, fans have made up their own theories. While some are guessing that Ranveer Singh will be roped in along with Deepika Padukone, many others are convinced that Bollywood’s Greek God Hrithik Roshan will shine on-screen as Dev. We are now eagerly waiting for more news about the second part in this trilogy!
