    With the cinemas facing the imminent threat of shutting down again due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases across the country, the fate of film releases is once again in the doldrums. While a few filmmakers have already cut their losses and decided to postpone their projects at the last minute, Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam is steady on its course to arrive in cinemas on Sankranti, 14 January.

    Rumours have gone around in the past few days that the makers might look at postponing the romantic saga but no official announcement has been made yet. In light of the current situation, the OTT platforms have once again jumped on the opportunity to try and bag some of these re-postponed films for a direct to digital release and the makers of Prabhas Radhe Shyam too have apparently received a handsome offer.

    According to reports, Amazon Prime Video extended an offer of Rs. 350 crores to release Radhe Shyam exclusively on the platform. Streaming giant Netflix too is said to have approached the makers with an offer of Rs. 300 crores for a direct digital release.

    Amidst all this Radhe Shyam director. Radha Krishna Kumar wrote on Twitter, “Times are tough, hearts are weak, minds in mayhem. Whatever life may throw at us - Our hopes are always High. Stay safe, stay high - Team #radheshyam”.

    The movie stars Prabhas and Pooja Hegde as the lead pair in this visual stunning love story which is set in the 1970’s Europe. The actor plays a renowned palmist who believes he not meant to fall on love but develops feeling for Pooja’s character. The trailer of the film also teases a big tragic twist to this romance and has been very well received by fans so far.
