Ahead of its release, Pathaan has created much-needed hype not for his star power Shah Rukh Khan but also for controversy. As the release date is approaching, trade experts have begun predictions about its opening box office collection. Taking into consideration the superstar’s return to the silver screen after a hiatus of four years and all social media buzz after its trailer release, the experts expect Pathaan to make Rs 35 to Rs 40 crore on the first day of release. It means, it could beat Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s first-day collection of Rs 36 crore.

According to the report of Etimes, trade analyst Akshay Rathi believes that Pathaan’s Day 1 collection will be huge despite being a working day. The film is expected to go beyond Rs 45 crore on its second day, which is a holiday. Trade analyst Girish Johar added that the following weekend would also bring footfalls inside a theatre. “The film can do fantastic numbers including the overseas market, where if the film does even 10 to 12 million dollars in the first five days and if everything goes well, we're looking at a 300 crores global box office from the first five days,” he was quoted as saying to Etimes.

Furthermore, trade expert Girish Wankhede is confident about Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom and box office authority. He believes that the actor can never go out of sync and infact his four years of hiatus will bring more excitement and charisma to the box office. “With Pathaan, he will consolidate his super-stardom and box office authority.'' Meanwhile, Shah Rukh’s earlier two releases– Zero and Harry Met Sejal, didn’t perform well at the box office.

Talking about Pathaan, Siddharth Anand’s directorial promised high-octane action sequences with aerial fights. The film also has Dimple Kapadia in a pivotal role. It is also speculated that superstar Salman Khan will also make a special appearance in the movie. Backed by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, the film is arriving in theatres on January 25.
