Prithviraj: Sonu Sood began getting ready at 3 am to shoot as Chand Bardai, reveals it took him 5 hours

Yash Raj Film’s historical action drama Prithviraj is one of the most awaited films of the year. Helmed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film features Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar as fearless king Prithviraj Chauhan. While Manushi Chhillar , who was crowned Miss World 2017, will be making her acting debut as Sanyogita with this film, the versatile Sonu Sood will be seen as court poet Chand Bardai. His first look in the trailer successfully impressed fans and we can’t wait to see him shine on-screen on 3rd June.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, the actor opened up about his character and revealed how he prepped for the role of Chand Bardai. He also has a special connection to the poet! Sonu was quoted saying, “I had heard stories of Chand Bardai and Prithviraj Chauhan from my mother, who was a professor of history and English literature. So, playing this character was special for me. My director shared a lot of literature about Chand Bardai, which helped my prep.”

He further shared, “I remember getting ready used to be a [daunting] task due to the prosthetics. I used to start getting ready from 3 am, so that I could be ready for the shot at 8 am. Once I would get into the outfit, my body language used to change. I would start feeling like the character.”

Akshay had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days days ago, but he recovered and dived right back into work yesterday by starting promotions with his leading lady Manushi. How excited are you for Prithviraj?
