Prithviraj trailer: Brave king Akshay Kumar fights epic war; Manushi Chhillar as Sanyogita celebrates true love

After teasing the audience with the gripping first look, the makers of period drama Prithviraj unveiled the much-awaited trailer. Featuring Akshay Kumar , Manushi Chhillar , Sanjay Dutt , and Sonu Sood, the historical drama promises a larger-than-life experience with grand cinematic vision and patriotic dialogues. 

Set in the 12th century, the film's trailer introduces Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan, the successor of the King of Delhi. Then follows the love sequence of Prithviraj with princess Sanyogita played by Manushi Chhillar. Later, Sanjay Dutt enters as Prithviraj's protector as a warrior who takes an oath to kill anyone who challenges to kill his king. While Sonu Sood is introduced as poet Chand Vardai who plays king's aid and support like ' Valmiki to Ram.' Towards the end, the merciless invader Muhammad of Ghor looms calamity at the Delhi sultanate and announces war with Prithviraj. Watch the trailer here:

Prihviraj celebrates the valour of India’s bravest warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan and Akshay impressses in the titular role. The film marks former Miss World Manushi Chillar’s Bollywood debut. The film follows the epic war Prithviraj fought against the invader Muhammad of Ghori and the tale of his love with princess Sanyogita.

Earlier, Akshay called the historic drama a tribute to Prithviraj Chauhan’s heroism and life. The superstar said, “The more I read about him, the more I was awed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his glorious life for his country and his values. We hope that Indians worldwide love our salute to this mighty braveheart. We have tried to present his life story in the most authentic way possible and the film is a homage to his unmatched bravery and courage.”

Prithviraj is helmed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who directed the biggest television epic Chanakya and the multiple award-winning movie Pinjar. And bankrolled by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films . Dwivedi wanted an authentic representation of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, for this purpose, Chopra transformed an entire floor in the studio into a research wing, according to koimoi.

Prithviraj is set to hit theatres on June 3, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The movie is set to clash with Ajay Devgn ’s sports drama Maidaan , which is based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
