Priyanka Chopra points to her Bollywood films when asked about her ‘small’ role in The Matrix

Priyanka Chopra has been making us all proud with her appearances in Hollywood films. The actress, who has a remarkable filmography in Bollywood, was last seen in the pivotal role of Sati in The Matrix Resurrections. However, many in the audience felt that her role was 'small'. Now, Priyanka has opened up about it.

Talking to Asian Sunday TV, she opened up about the South Asian community asking her why she would pick up a role that is just a few minutes long and where she would not play the leading character. Priyanka said, "Because it’s The Matrix and I play an extremely pivotal part. Even when I picked my movies in Bollywood, I have always picked roles according to characters and they are not necessarily always the lead. The lead is Carrie-Anne Moss, who played Trinity in the last three movies. You’re not competing with that and I think it’s such a myopic and very small mentality to think that way.”

She also counted her films in Bollywood where she did not play the part of the leading lady, but had said yes because of the script and because she would share the screen with an ensemble cast. She also added, "Whether it is Bajirao Mastani , Barfi, Kaminey , there are so many movies that I have done that are not about me. I just love playing with great talent. I love being on the playground with incredible people. I am not very myopic when it comes to my characters, especially not The Matrix!”

Well, there is no doubt that Priyanka, as Sati had a really important part of play in the narrative, and that it was pivotal indeed.
