Raayan box office collection day 6: Will Dhanush's film become the saviour of Kollywood in 2024?

There seems to be no stopping the rise of Dhanush’s latest outing, Raayan. The film, which was released last week, has been successful at luring audiences to theatres despite other releases. Starring Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan, Raayan has been getting appreciation and love from audiences, who have been heaping praise on leading man Dhanush for delivering an engaging and gripping revenge tale. On day 6, here’s how much the film has collected so far:

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Raayan has been witnessing an impressive run ever since it was released in theatres on July 26. After an opening of Rs 13.65 crore, the film has now earned Rs 4 crore on day 6, bringing its total revenue to Rs 56.95 crore net in India.

The Tamil gangster action thriller is currently on track to earn a global total of Rs 100 crore and has become the fourth highest-grossing Tamil film of the year, surpassing both Captain Miller and Ayaalan (which had an approximate earning of Rs 76.60 crore). With no big releases this week, Dhanush's film will enjoy yet another solo theatrical run at the box office and is expected to come to the rescue of a struggling Kollywood.

Raayan is Dhanush's 50th film and is also directed by him. It revolves around a young man’s desperate attempts to save his family from a confrontation with a gangster.

Dushara Vijayan expresses gratitude to Dhanush after Raayan's success

Following the success of Raayan, leading lady Dushara Vijayan, who plays Dhanush’s sister Durga in the film, took to social media to pen a heartfelt note in which she thanked Dhanush for the opportunity to be part of the film. Praising Dhanush's direction, she said it was his "outstanding guidance and vision" that inspired her. In her note, she expressed gratitude towards the audiences for their “kind words and positive response” that made all her hard work worthwhile.
