After wrapping up Anubhav Sinha ’s Bheed, actor Rajkummar Rao is set to collaborate with the filmmaker for yet another project set against the Covid pandemic.

The project will be an anthology that will feature short films by prominent filmmakers including Hansal Mehta, Ketan Mehta , Sudhir Mishra, and Anubhav Sinha. Reportedly, Rajkummar has been signed for Anubhav’s yet-to-be-titled short film which is said to be based on Covid -19 pandemic.

“When Anubhav shared the premise of his short film with Raj, it resonated with him. The director felt Raj is someone who connects with the movie on a personal level. Casting is key for Anubhav, and he almost always knows from the get-go who he is envisioning in the role. He felt Raj was the perfect choice for the part.” a close source told Mid-Day.

The anthology is reported to be backed by Bhushan Kumar ’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s production house Benaras Mediaworks. Reportedly, Sudhir has signed up Taapsee Pannu and Parambrata Chatterjee for his short film. His upcoming short film will be a socio-political drama that will span two generations.

Earlier, Rajkummar had wrapped up Anubhav’s Bheed in December last year. The actor took to his Instagram and posted a photo wherein the director-actor duo can be seen hugging each other. “And it’s a Wrap #BHEED. Can’t express in words how amazing I felt working with you my dearest @anubhavsinhaa sir. You’re a gem of a person and a genius filmmaker. इस “भीड़” में एक बहुत अच्छे दोस्त मिल गए मुझे। I love you sir.” he captioned the photo.

Bheed, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar , is a sociopolitical drama backed jointly by Anubhav and Bhushan Kumar. The film went on floors in November in Lucknow last year while the announcement was made in October . Rajkummar had described it as a film with an “important subject”.
