    The trailer of Akshay Kumar ’s Raksha Bandhan has finally been unveiled today (June 21). The movie has been helmed by Aanand L Rai and also stars Bhumi Pednekar in a pivotal role. The trailer showcases the endearing bond of an elder brother with his younger sisters.

    Talking about the same, the trailer shows the story of Akshay Kumar’s character who has taken up the responsibility of his four younger sisters single-handedly. He can be seen constantly worrying and working hard to make all the arrangements to get his four sisters married in an efficient manner. This also affects his own relationship with his ladylove played by Bhumi Pednekar whom he cannot marry until he arranges the marriage of all his four sisters.

    The trailer furthermore showcases the perils of the dowry system which affects several fathers and brothers of the middle-class families who toil hard to arrange for their daughter and sister’s marriage respectively. By the looks of it, the story of Raksha Bandhan revolves around the love and sacrifice of an elder brother towards his younger sister. Take a look at the trailer.

    Apart from Akshay Kumar’s endearing performance and his chemistry with Bhumi Pednekar, the performance of the actresses playing his sisters also steal the show in the trailer. The movie stars Sadia Khateeb , Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, and Smrithi Srikanth in the role of Akshay’s eccentric but lovable sisters. The movie also stars Seema Pahwa in a pivotal role.

    The movie has been penned by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The music has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Sharing the trailer on his social media account, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Jahan parivaar ka pyaar hota hai, wahan har rukaavat ka samadhaan bhi hota hai (Where there is the love of one’s family, there is a solution to every problem).” It is slated to be released on August 11.
