Ayan Mukerji’s much awaited Brahmāstra is finally in theatres. While the film has received mixed reviews with netizens loving some bits but finding faults in others, two major reasons why it is making headlines is Shah Rukh Khan ’s epic cameo and the second installment in the planned trilogy. Audiences adore SRK and seeing him back in action, even for just a few minutes, was a treat! Meanwhile, reports suggest that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be headlining Brahmāstra 2 as Dev and Amrita.

Well much to our delight, in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, lead stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt discussed both these topics! Talking about Brahmāstra 2, Ranbir shared, “I am super excited because we are among the lucky ones to know what the trilogy is and where the story will go from hereon. If I may speak on behalf of Alia, we can’t wait to get these two great actors to play the part of Dev and Amrita.” He went on to add that his and Alia aka Shiva and Isha’s character arcs will blow fans away and they can’t wait to explore it.

Coming to Shah Rukh’s cameo, which received an overwhelming reaction from fans all across the nation, Alia believes ‘the more the merrier’. The actress shared, “Somebody like a Shah Rukh Khan coming and doing his cameo in Brahmastra , that was his generosity and he came out and look at the way the film began. It began with a bang.” She explained that the coming together of like-minded creative energies is a ‘passionate feeling’.

Also starring Amitabh Bachchan as leader of the Brahmānsh, Nagarjuna Akkineni who wields Nandi Astra and Mouni Roy as antagonist Junoon, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022, after beating The Kashmir Files and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
