Robert Downey Jr. rumored to return as Iron Man in Avengers: Secret Wars

MCU fans bid farewell to Tony Stark aka Iron Man in Avengers: End Game where he sacrificed his life to stop the mad titan Thanos, The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off in 2008 with Iron Man and went on to become one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world.

But it seems fans may get to see Downey's Iron Man back in action in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars .

According to the rumor Marvel Studios plans to bring the actor back as this iconic superhero in the upcoming event movie, since the MCU has already introduced the multiverse there is a strong possibility that this could be a varaint of the Tony Stark we knew or the studio could be planning to bring him back in a flashback scene.

There are also rumors that the studio has big plans for Morgan Stark, who was introduced in Avengers: End Game, but we don't know when we will see the adult version of the character it seems likely actress Katherine Langford would play the role as she did in a deleted scene from the movie.

The possibility of Downy returning is interesting but we have to wonder whether or not it is too soon and the fact that the actor is even willing to return.

For now, we will just have to wait and see, Avengers: Secret Wars is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is set to release on May 1, 2026.
