RRR day 16 box office collection: SS Rajamouli's film explodes the cash registers, crosses Rs 1000 crore worldwide

    The SS Rajamouli directorial Indian epic drama, RRR had broken several records within its first week of release. Now on its 16thday, the movie has rewritten history by crossing a whopping Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The film stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.

    Talking about the same, RRR was fast inching towards the Rs 1000 crore mark and now it has finally crossed the same. Film analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to his social media handle to tweet, “#RRRMovie enters the PRESTIGIOUS ₹1,000 cr club.” Take a look at his post.

    Apart from this, he also stated that RRR has joined movies like Baahubali 2 starring Prabhas and Aamir Khan ’s Dangal to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. However, it will be interesting to see if RRR continues to enjoy this strong foothold as it will be facing tough competition from Thalapathy Vijay ’s Beast and Yash starrer KGF 2 . The movie has further created a new record by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in Telangana’s Nizam area.

    RRR has become the first of its kind to attain this achievement. Manobala Vijabalan had earlier also taken to his social media handle to tweet that the movie has collected Rs 939.41 crore in just 12 days of its release. Film analyst Kaushik LM had furthermore taken to his official Twitter handle to state about RRR’s record in Telangana’s Nizam area.

    His tweet read, “RRR #RRRMovie Nizam area *theatrical share* smashes the 100 CR mark. A film doing a theatrical share of 100 CR in a single big territory/state is a Herculean task. In a major industry like Kollywood, no film has done even 90 CR (leave alone 100 CR) share in TN, to date.”

    Talking about RRR, it was made on the budget of Rs 350 crore, while the remuneration of the lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR is said to be Rs 80 Crore each. On the other hand, director SS Rajamouli has reportedly taken a whopping Rs 100 Crore as his remuneration fee to direct RRR. The movie is a fictional story that is based on the lives of the courageous freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
